The Community Crafts Cooperative, Special Hands, is a group of Tz'utujil women of Mayan decent from San Juan La Laguna. We have the common goal to generate income that will enable us to support our children who have special needs.
The particular circumstances of each of the cooperative’s family has cultivated a sense of responsibility, tolerance, respect, generosity, team work, and above all, a strong sense of family values. Our hands are tools to make our crafts and our hands are full of love.
Every sale we make, contributes to cover treatment, therapy, and educational activities to improve the quality of life for our children with special needs. Furthermore, in our work, we recognize the value of historic Tz'utujil Mayan fabric production and contribute to the conservation of our culture.
